LOW BUDGET ORCHESTRA: The Second Best

Der Nachfolger ist da! Nachdem ich bereits von der Debütscheibe des LBO, hinter dem sich der Multiinstrumentalist und Produzent Mikko Muranen verbirgt, so ziemlich begeistert war, ist auch sein zweitbestes Album (interessantes wie witziges Wortspiel) gut gelungen. Keyboardlastig wie bereits zuvor, ist der Zweitling noch druckvoller und differenzierter ausgefallen, auch wenn der Sound an einigen Stellen wirklich nicht über Homestudioqualität hinauskommen mag. Aber der Name ist Programm, insofern nur konsequent. Einige schöne Effekte und Gimmick haben sich in die Songs eingeschlichen, deren Songwriting sich nicht hinter den größeren Acts der melodiös-metallischen Progrockszene zu verstecken braucht. Schön wäre es, den Jungen mal mit ein paar gleichgeschalteten Soundtüftlern zusammenzubringen, um den eigenen Ideen andere, vielleicht verquere Ansätze entgegenzusetzen. Denn gelegentlich scheint Mr. Muranen die Inspiration verlassen zu haben, was immer noch genug Substanz fürs Hörvergnügen bietet. Vor allem unter der Kategorie "Low budget". Hörenswert!
